Savage Time
He swung his stare around and looked back at where he came from
Pulled out his knife and made a mark in the ground
Day was nearly over so he scouted out a quiet place
And built himself a condo from some rubble that he found
Had himself a quick shave and a cigarette
Livin in a savage time, gotta be a savage
He had a dream of lions they were tearing up the marketplace
Damaging the merchandise and tripping the alarm
He felt exhilaration so he stood and shouted something out
Had a strange desire to keep the lions safe from harm
Got himself an antelope on layaway
Livin in a savage time, gotta be a savage
He woke and wished for breakfast by the dawn's early light
Carved another testament and threw the blade away
Day'd be nearly over by the time he topped the city wall
He mounted his momentum and he wondered what he'd say
"I'm looking for a good deal on a renaissance..."
Livin in a savage time, gotta be a savage
