Bricks and Stones Gossip
BricksAndStonesGossip.com is another convert from the world of WordPress. The site actually began life as a Blogger site originally, but today it has evolved into a growing Drupal-based community. As If Productions was brought in to migrate the site, giving it a total redesign and adding some new features, like the "Gossip Groups" communities and the jQuery slideshow on the front page. Celebrity Baby Scoop
Another happy WordPress-to-Drupal migration, Celebrity Baby Scoop is (you guessed it) the place to go for up-to-the-minute information on celebrity babies, and celebrities who have them. The site features a growing community of self-styled User Groups, a custom AJAX-driven Slideshow demonstrating the power of jQuery, and an expectancy calendar indicating all the upcoming due-dates of the stars. Design by August Afternoon Designs. |
WedVert.com
In 2009 an upgrade and expansion was required for the flagship publication of Portovert LLC, creators of Portovert.com (praised as "The Number 1 Green Wedding Site" by Martha Stewart Weddings). This Drupal-based Green Wedding site now includes a tagged, searchable Shopping section and a popular Green Wedding Guide, in addition to the feature articles and photogalleries of its predecessor. |
Asiance Magazine
A complex and evolving magazine with a dedicated community site, Asiance Magazine is a good example of a highly customized Drupal theme. In migrating the site from Drupal 4 to Drupal 5, we faced a number of challenges due to lack of support for discontinued modules. Many of the site's features required custom-coding to retain compatibility with legacy data structures. Design and Flash programming by Jon Dela. |
FitCeleb.com
A sister site of ImNotObsessed.com, FitCeleb features health-related stories, celebrity news, exercise tips and nutritional advice to help you live a healthy lifestyle. FitCeleb began as a WordPress site, but they have joined the growing list of ex-WP sites now using Drupal for their content management needs. |
The Bastardly
Another happy conversion from WordPress to Drupal, this popular celebrity gossip blog was recently listed by MAXIM among the best examples of "pervarazzi" websites. Make no mistake: the Bastardly Crew do not idolize their celebrities; they prefer them skewered. Or naked. Or skewered, naked. Features include buttaface brownbags, the bikini body face-off, and the Bastardly Boob Reviews (wonder what those are?) The Bastardly is (usually) safe for work, but you probably won't want to share it with your mom. |
VivaGreen.com
A Drupal-based community blog and directory of Green companies, services and products, VivaGreen is the brainchild of Pivotal Ventures Inc. This highly dynamic site features a variety of advanced Drupal features, including a complex taxonomical structure, ad-hoc user groups, tag clouds, and a customized tabular approach to the "CCK Address" module allowing vendors to be sorted by city, state/province, country, zip/postal code or name. Listings and blog space are free. Got a Green company or service? Enter it in! |
Newbury Greens
Newbury Greens is an online artists community, personal artists gallery and exhibition hall for digital representations of physical artworks. Using a hybrid platform consisting of Drupal (for taxonomy and community features) and X-Cart (for e-commerce features), we were able to quickly put together a seamless user experience allowing art collectors to interact directly with each other, and with the artists whose work they are following. |
