Asiance Magazine - redux

In winter of 2009-2010, Asiance Magazine - connecting Asian American Woman to the World - upgraded their site to Drupal 6 and picked up a number of neat new features along the way. The new site includes an expanded Community section divided into 5 creative professions (artists, designers, filmmakers, models and writers), as well as a Forum and a Userpoints system.

MyDealbreakers.com

Ten25Enterprises wants to make online dating fun again. That's why they came up with the concept for MyDealbreakers.com: a unique online dating site that cuts to the chase, letting you look for potential partners by specifying what you aren't looking for. The site functions as a simple matching game, challenging you to match "Dealbreakers" with the person who made them.

The underlying game engine was developed by As If Productions, using a combination of Drupal 6 modules and custom PHP scripts.

GoAway (Drupal Module)

GoAway is a dirt-simple, light-weight "Ban By IP" module for Drupal 6. It works by redirecting offending anonymous users to a page or URL specified by the admin. The module possesses the following features:

  • Separate role-based permissions for Settings, Banning, and Unbanning
  • Either a local page or a remote URL may be used as the redirect destination
  • Adds display of IP address to anonymous comments for easy tracking & copying (only displayed to users with 'ban' permission)

    Celebrity Baby Scoop

Another happy WordPress-to-Drupal migration, Celebrity Baby Scoop is (you guessed it) the place to go for up-to-the-minute information on celebrity babies, and celebrities who have them. The site features a growing community of self-styled User Groups, a custom AJAX-driven Slideshow demonstrating the power of jQuery, and an expectancy calendar indicating all the upcoming due-dates of the stars. Design by August Afternoon Designs.

    WedVert.com

In 2009 an upgrade and expansion was required for the flagship publication of Portovert LLC, creators of Portovert.com (praised as "The Number 1 Green Wedding Site" by Martha Stewart Weddings). This Drupal-based Green Wedding site now includes a tagged, searchable Shopping section and a popular Green Wedding Guide, in addition to the feature articles and photogalleries of its predecessor.

    Asiance Magazine

A complex and evolving magazine with a dedicated community site, Asiance Magazine is a good example of a highly customized Drupal theme. In migrating the site from Drupal 4 to Drupal 5, we faced a number of challenges due to lack of support for discontinued modules. Many of the site's features required custom-coding to retain compatibility with legacy data structures. Design and Flash programming by Jondela Design.
